Hello? God Are You There? Its Me
Do you ever have one of those days, or seasons in life where it seems like God literally has forgotten about you?
But then you realize its your fault? You’ve been running away from Him this entire time…
I start running, because I get bitterand upset, because things aren’t going the way I “thought” they would. I get angry because everyone seems to have it figured out, they all seem to have jobs, be in love(aka NOT single), be happy.
I am not a bitter person, I never have been. But bitterness and a hard heart is where I seem to find myself recently. I think I’m letting fear, insecurity and uncertainty get in the way of having a heart for God.
But sometimes being closed off just seems so much easier. And now I’m afraid to let God soften my heart, because… well… for God to bend me, it requires a bit of pain. And its been nice not having to feel for a little while.
I hope God is meeting you where you are at right now… don’t let life and people harden your heart, its not worth the Glory that God has for you in His Kingdom.
The world’s hurt has nothing to do with you
It is almost never about you. What I mean is that when people act in a way that hurts or makes you feel insecure, it is almost certainly about something happening inside of them, and not about you. I struggle with this one mightily, and I have tried very, very hard never once to tell you you are being “too sensitive” or to “get over it” when you feel hurt. Believe me, I know how feelings can slice your heart, even if your head knows otherwise. But maybe, just maybe, it will help to remember that almost always other people are struggling with their own demons, even if they bump into you by accident.
